Ranchi, Nov 26: The fourth round of counselling in B Tech colleges in Jharkhand has been completed. The Jharkhand Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board (JCECEB) has also released a list of recommendations for each college in the state. However, the total number of vacant seats that remain is yet to be disclosed.
However, here’s an approximate calculation of the percentage of remaining seats. Civil Engineering may have 69 per cent vacant seats, Computer Science and Engineering may have 73 per cent vacant seats, Electrical and Electronics Engineering may have almost all seats vacant, Electrical and Communications Engineering may have 74 per cent vacant seats, Mechanical Engineering may have 70 per cent vacant seats, Electrical Engineering may have almost all seats vacant, Mining have 20 per cent vacant seats, IT may have only two remaining seats, while Production and Industrial Engineering may only have one. Meanwhile, the seats on the remaining streams may already have been filled.
In Jharkhand, Civil Engineering has 962 seats, Computer Science and Engineering has 885 seats, Electrical and Electronics Engineering has 372 seats, Electrical and Communications Engineering has 724 seats, Mechanical Engineering has 1255 seats, Electrical Engineering has 444 seats, Metallurgy has 54 seats, Mining has 49 seats, Chemical Engineering has 91 seats, IT has 85 seats, while Production and Industrial Engineering has 54 seats all over the state in colleges that take admissions through JCECEB counselling.
After the third round of counselling, Civil Engineering had 921 vacant seats, Computer Science and Engineering had 868 vacant seats, Electrical and Electronics Engineering had 370 vacant seats, Electrical and Communications Engineering had 626 vacant seats, Mechanical Engineering had 999 vacant seats, Electrical Engineering has 370 seats, Metallurgy had 12 vacant seats, Mining had 7 vacant seats, Chemical engineering had 21 vacant seats, IT had 25 seats, while Production and Industrial Engineering had 16 seats.
Meanwhile, the third and fourth rounds saw a recommendation on several remaining seats by JCECEB. After this, approximate numbers of seats vacant include 673 seats in Civil Engineering, 653 seats in Computer Science and Engineering, 370 vacant seats in Electrical and Electronics Engineering, 535 vacant seats in Electrical and Communications Engineering, 891 vacant seats in Mechanical Engineering, 198 seats in Electrical Engineering, 2 vacant seats in Mining, while Production and Industrial Engineering may have 1 remaining seat.
Notably, there are a total of 16 engineering colleges that take admissions through counselling at JCECEB. These include BIT Sindri, Dhanbad with a total of 680 seats; University College of Engineering and Technology, Hazaribagh with 210 seats; Ramgovind Institue of Technology, Koderma with 336 seats; Guru Gobind Singh Educational Society’s Technical Campus, Bokaro with 300 seats; RTC Institute of Technology with 240 seats; BA College of Engineering and Technology with 174 seats; Nilai Education Trust’s Group of Institutions Thakurgaon, Ranchi with 360 seats; and K K College of Engineering and Management, Dhanbad with 420 seats.
Private colleges that take admissions through JCECEB counselling include RVS College of Engineering and Technology, Jamshedpur with 350 seats; CIT Tatisilwai, Ranchi with 390 seats; DAV Institute of Engineering and Technology, Palamau with 180 seats; and Maryland Institute of Technology and Management, Jamshedpur with 225 seats.
Apart from this, four new colleges also began admissions in 2022 through JCECEB. These include Dumka Engineering College, Chaibasa Engineering College, Ramgarh Engineering College, and Palamu Engineering College; all of which have 300 seats each.
Notably, the last date for admissions after the fourth round was Friday, November 25. After this, there may be a possibility of open counselling for students in the state engineering colleges.
