RAJ KUMAR
Ranchi, Nov 2: Kolkata based businessman Amit Agrawal, whom Enforcement Directorate (ED), had arrested in the first week of October for hatching a conspiracy to trap Jharkhand High Court (JHC) advocate Rajeev Kumar, a lawyer representing a petitioner in two PILs against Jharkhand chief minister Hemant Soren, has knocked the door of JHC pleading innocence.
His advocate Shahwaz Akhtar informed this to a section of media outside the JHC saying his petition will be taken on November 4 for hearing.
“My client has filed a criminal writ petition demanding quashing of entire proceedings against him in the ED court. He has pleaded innocence saying he has been made scapegoat as so far there is no illegality has surfaced taking money. He has withdrawn money from his account through cheque. He has given prior information to the police. He has trapped someone involved in illegal work but he was considered as accused,” Akhtar said.
Asked for a copy of the charge sheet, Akhtar said he has not got the certified copy of that.
