Ranchi, Feb. 17: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has issued a fresh summon to officer in-charge of Argora police station Binod Kumar Singh in Jharkhand Congress MLA cash recovery case.
According to ED sources, he has been asked to come up at 11 AM on February 23.
Last week when the ED had summoned him, the officer said that he needed direction from his seniors about the summons of the agency and he would act as per the direction.
However, it is not clear at this moment whether top cops have given any direction to the officer-in-charge either to cooperate with the agency or to stay away. But the agency has summoned him.
Jharkhand Congress MLA Jaimangal Singh alias Anoop Singh had lodged a zero FIR on July 31 last year against another Congress MLA Irfan Ansari for offering him Rs 10 crore and a ministerial berth to topple the Hemant Soren led JMM-Congress-RJD government in Jharkhand. Besides, he had also named BJP’s Assam CM as a part of a conspiracy to destabilize the government. The FIR was lodged a day after Irfan Ansari along with MLAs Naman Bixal Kongari and Rajesh Kacchap was detained along with Rs. 49 lakhs by the Bengal police at Howrah.
This Zero FIR was transferred to the Bengal police by the Argora police station.
According to sources, the ED wants to know from the officer in-charge as to when Anoop Singh came to lodge the FIR and what ground he lodged a zero FIR and later on transferred to the Bengal police. And whether he had examined and investigated allegations?
