Ranchi, Feb.17: Jharkhand Governor designate C.P. Radhakrishnan arrived here today, He was received by Chief Minister Hemant Soren among others at the Ranchi airport.
Acting Chief Justice of Jharkhand Justice Aparesh Singh will administer him oath on February 18 here at Birsa Mandap of the Raj Bhavan. Prior to this, Governor Ramesh Bias left for Maharashtra.
Name of Radhakrishnan as new governor of Jharkhand was notified by the President’s House on February 12.
Once Radhakrishnan assumed charge, Jharkhand will get its 10th governor. He was a member of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and was elected to the Lok Sabha twice from Coimbatore.
He was also the former state president of the party for Tamil Nadu. Till recently he was the National Executive Member of the Bharatiya Janata Party and was appointed the Kerala BJP Prabhari (In-Charge by the party’s high command.
He was Chairman of the All-India Coir Board from 2016 to 2019, which comes under the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME).
