Ranchi, Sept 8: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) is likely to take up investigation of the alleged illegal mining at Nimbu Hills in Sahibganj where a private person had lodged an online police complaint and a court complaint further.
Pankaj Mishra, who is the MLA representative of Barhet MLA and CM Hemant Soren, is the main accused of this case. Sources have said that the ED did a preliminary inquiry into this matter and found that the present case can be included in the ongoing investigation of the money laundering case. But it is yet to be seen whether the ED will take it as an independent case for investigation or it will be clubbed together.
But this will bring further trouble for Pankaj Mishra who is in judicial custody for his alleged role in the illegal stone mining and transpiration. The ED arrested him on July 20. Other than Pankaj Mishra, complaints have been lodged against Vishnu, Pavitra, Rajesh, Sanjay, Bacchu and Shubhesh also.
One Vijay Hansda of Bhavani Chowki is the complainant of the case of illegal mining at Nimbu Hills. He has stated the Sahibganj police refused to lodge his complaint owing to political influence of Pankaj Mishra. Later on, he filed an online FIR (complaint number 120602) in May. But after no action was taken.So, he lodged a court complaint.
The complainant stated that Nimbu Pahad was closely located at his village and the illegal mining causes environmental pollution. He alleged Pankaj Mishra conducted illegal mining. Narrating the incident, the complainant said that on the night of May 2, he and other villagers went to the mining site when the mining was going on. Vijay Hansda has claimed that all the accused were present at the place and when asked to stop the mining he was assaulted and abused by the accused persons. He further claimed that the district mining department and the district administration took no action to stop illegal mining at this hill despite information.
