Ranchi, June 13: Senior Congress leader Furquan Ansari while talking to Lagatar 24.com over phone admitted that his forefathers were Hindu ‘Yadavs’ who later converted into Islam due to atrocities perpetrated by feudal lords.

Ansari was contacted after BJP legislature party Babulal Marandi tweeted Ansari’s video informing about the former’s statement given to the media.

“Furqan ji was earlier a Hindu “Yadav”. Then he became a Muslim “Ansari” (weaver) when persecuted by feudal lords. Ashrafi feudal lords (Sheikhs, Syeds, Pathans) do not even like to sit and eat with weavers. Furqan ji is trapped. Where will you go now? Furquan ji is a very innocent and naive man, I respect him a lot,” the tweet read.

Ansari supported the statement saying the statement was given to falsify the BJP statements claiming that the Mughal emperosr converted Hindus with the sword power.

“Mughals never converted Hindus using swords. Hindus converted them into Islam when feudal lords perpetuated atrocities against them and did not respect their daughters and daughter-in-laws. Feudal lords never allowed them to enter the temple,” he said.

He said: “There is a place called Chuan Pani in Banka district of Bihar close to Godda where there are Mandaria Muslims who were earlier Mandals. In Mahagama, Muslims still have Mandal titles and their land documents clearly show how they were Hindus.”

Ansari’s statement matches the statement of RSS saying “Hindu Muslim Sikh Isai Sabke Purvaz Ram The Bhai.”

When contacted, his son Irfan Ansari, who is Congress party’s Jamtara MLA, for his comment on the matter, he did not comment.
