Jamshedpur, Nov 8: Moderate to heavy fog today disrupted morning visibility at several places, especially those areas located in hilly terrains.
Fog descended soon after sun-rise and lasted for about two hours. IMD’s Ranchi Met Centre issued an alert of fog and mist in the morning for the next 72- hours and a partly cloudy sky at several places.
“No significant synoptic system prevails over Jharkhand. But, a western disturbance as a trough in the west lies with its axis at 5.8 Km above mean sea level roughly along Long. 62°E to the north of Lat. 30°N was prevailing. This would result in moisture incursion, fog and partly cloudy sky, ” said Abhishek Anand, head of IMD’s Ranchi Met Centre.
But, he ruled out the possibility of rain in the next few days.
IMD’s Ranchi Met Centre also hinted at a drop in minimum readings by around two degree Celsius after the next 72- hours. Weathermen said there will not be any significant changes in maximum temperature during the next five days.
The maximum temperature hovered between 28- 30 degree Celsius in most parts of the state while the minimum temperature fluctuated between 16 and 29 degree Celsius.
