Daltonganj, March 14: Forest officials of the Garhwa district are on alert following reports of a tiger sighting in the Sarguja district of Chhattisgarh. A water reservoir called Kanhar separates Jharkhand’s Garhwa district and Sarguja district of Chhatisgarh.
“The tiger was seen in the Chhattisgarh part,” said the conservator of forest Dileep Kumar Yadav.
“We have no report of this tiger having been seen in Jharkhand till date but we are alert if it negotiates the river Kanhar and comes over to our land,” said Yadav.
He said our forest officials are in touch with the Sarguja counterparts taking notes in this regard as well.
