Ranchi, Oct 17: A two-day ‘Farm Flea Festival’ was held at Ghasibari Village in Khunti from Oct 15-16 where Jharkhand’s first ever hot air balloon service was launched. The event was organised by ‘The Open Field’.

“The event saw a footfall of around 7,000 people during the two-day event and the launch of Jharkhand’s first ever hot air balloon service was the main attraction. We are the first from Jharkhand to start this in Jharkhand and the public’s response was really good,” said Abhishek, the organiser and owner of The Open Field.

Apart from the launch of the hot air balloon, the first day of the event saw performances by Ranchi’s famous music performers such as Escapegoat, Julian D Kujur and The Handpicked. On the final day of the event, there were musical performances by the local children who performed in tribal and Hindi songs.

Moreover, there was also a dirt bike track which was made along with the title sponsor Royal Enfield for the biking enthusiasts from Jharkhand. The track was inspired by the motocross events with various curves and bumps to test the rider’s capabilities.

Notably, Nideja Properties PVT Limited, Havlock, Andaman & Nicobar and Royal Enfield were the title sponsors for the event.

Dr Manisha Oraon, one of the organisers of the event, spoke to lagatar24.com and said that more such events will be held in the coming few months as the response from the crowd has been really positive.

“We have been organising events since February but this was the biggest event for us till now. Earlier, we used to conduct it in just the campus of the open field but this time we had spread it across fields. The response from crowd was really positive and the launch of the hot air balloon was a big achievement for us. We will be organising such events more in the coming few months,” she said.
