Ranchi, Sept 27: Governor-cum-Chancellor of Jharkhand State Universities Ramesh Bais on Tuesday directed to make appointments on the vacant posts in the Universities and work at a fast pace towards roster clearance at a meeting with the officials of the state education department at Raj Bhawan.
The Governor said that since assuming office he is fully striving for the development of higher education. He asked everyone to work with dedication to improve the condition of the educational institutions, the Raj Bhawan said in a statement.
Emphasizing on the need to speed up the methodology for the development of higher education, Bais said that laxity in work is a hindrance in the development of education. He reviewed the efforts being made to solve various problems of the universities.
Jharkhand Public Service Commission Chairman Dr Mary Neelima Kerketta, Principal Secretary to Governor Dr Nitin Madan Kulkarni, Secretary, Higher and Technical Education Department Rahul Kumar Purwar, Director, Higher and Technical Education Suraj Kumar and other officers of the department were present in the meeting.
The Governor said that the statute of Jharkhand University of Technology has not been made yet. He inquired about the updated status regarding the appointment of Vice Chancellor for Jharkhand University of Technology.
The Governor directed to work diligently towards making and implementing the statute of 2018 for appointment to various important posts like Registrar, Controller of Examinations in various universities of the state.
He also discussed making available funds for infrastructure development of Jharkhand Open University and Jamshedpur Women’s University and directed to make it accessible at the earliest.
Bais directed the Higher Education Department to speed up the work of fixing salaries of teachers and non-teaching staff. For this, he said that some personnel should be engaged in this work as per the requirement.
In the meeting, he asked to work towards transfer of library, administrative building etc. to Nilambar-Pitamber University, Medininagar at the earliest. He asked to provide a separate building to Jharkhand Open University.
The Higher and Technical Education Secretary apprised that about 7 acres of land has been identified near the National Law University. It was also told in the meeting that every university should fix the fee of the BEd course soon.
In every university there should be an officer who has the knowledge of the work related to the structure of the university, Bais added.
