Ranchi, Aug.28: Governor Ramesh Bais today enjoyed boating at Patratu Dam. A Raj Bhawan official informed this sharing pictures of the governor in a boat in which he is seen taking pictures by his mobile phone.
“The Governor went to Patratu using the roadway. He saw the beauty of Patratu valley and dam,” the Raj Bhawan source said.
“Situated in the lap of nature, the place is adorable. Apart from the immense potential for tourism development, the place is useful for the film world for its natural beauty. There is a favourable atmosphere for film shooting,” the Raj Bhawan source quoted the governor saying.
“Before visiting the dam, the governor was given a guard of honour by police jawans at Ramgarh,” the source said.
This is not the first time the governor has shown interest in nature. Earlier, he visited Hundru fall, a tourist destination of the state, along with his family members.
Bais assumed his office on July 14 in Jharkhand as 10th governor. Earlier he also served as the 18th governor of Tripura in 2019. A member of the Bharatiya Janata Party, he had served as a Union Minister of State (Independent charge) for Environment and Forests in Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s government from 1999. He was elected to the 9th (1989), 11th (1996), 12th, 13th, 14th (2004), 15th and 16th Lok Sabha from Raipur.
