Ranchi, Feb.25: Governor Ramesh Bais during his address in the assembly today asked legislators to formulate laws for the benefit of people of the state cutting across their party affiliation and underlined the importance of their behaviours inside and outside the house.
During the address which started at 11.30am and continued till 12.12pm, the governor counted achievements of the government during the last two years and informed the house about the steps being taken for the all-around development of the land and people of Jharkhand.
The Governor also presented data during his address that suggested how the state is progressing despite the negative impact of the corona pandemic on the state’s economy. The work, he mentioned, during his address included the action of waiving loans of farmers involving Rs 836.57 crore, promoting animal husbandry for the generation of 50000 jobs in rural area, chalking out and implementing a plan of supplying potable water involving Rs 15000 crore, work of laying optical fibre, making provision of giving 75 percent jobs to locals in private companies, giving assistant teacher status to para teachers.
Other achievements included work of giving Rs 250 to each cardholder for petrol, covering 15 lakh additional people under food security act, increasing revenue collection by 42.06 percent, constructing 2100 km road in the state, taking the project of developing seven tourist destinations in the state besides several other including work of giving cash award to players, sending students of state for education to
international universities, formulating rules to ensure maximum job opportunity to locals in government institutions, spending Rs 2955 crore under MNREGA scheme and others.
