Chatra, June.13: Jharkhand Governor C P Radhakrishnan on Tuesday said here that it should be the duty of any governor to communicate with the people and get information about the benefits of the schemes so that people’s concerns can be conveyed to the government.
He said that because of this, he has decided to go among the public so that people do not have to face the trouble of coming to Raj Bhavan. “I am present among all of you to get aware of the real situation,” he added.
Radhakrishnan was here to attend a ‘jan sanwad’ programme at the Karma panchayat secretariat.
He further said that there should not be any hindrance in the work of development. “If small villages of panchayat like Karma takes the path of development, then the block will also develop. When the block develops then the district will develop and when the district develops then the state will develop and then the country will develop,” he said.
He said that despite the difficult conditions, today the people of the district are getting comprehensive facilities and infrastructure has been developed.
Mentioning the status of schemes run in Chatra district like Ujjwala Yojana, Jal Jeevan Mission Yojana, he urged people to take advantage of all other schemes being run by the central and state governments.
The Governor, on this occasion, felicitated Kajal Kumari, daughter of Pachan Bhuiyan, with a gallantry certificate for her heroic act of saving a drowning child by showing indomitable courage on May 7.
Earlier, the governor was presented with a guard of honour after his arrival here.
Deputy Commissioner Abu Imran, after giving a brief introduction of the district to the Governor, apprised him about the various works done in the district especially in education, sports, tourism and other fields.
Superintendent of Police Rakesh Ranjan, Deputy Development Commissioner Utkarsh Gupta and other officials were also present on this occasion.
