Dhanbad, March 17: Binod Bihari Mahto Koylanchal University (BBMKU), Dhanbad will celebrate its sixth foundation day on March 23, with Governor CP Radhakrishnan serving as the chief guest.
According to a senior officer of BBMKU, the Chancellor(governor) will dedicate the university’s new campus at Bhelatand to the students of the Dhanbad and Bokaro districts.
The BBMKU administration, led by vice-chancellor Dr Sukhdeo Bhoi, had a meeting on Wednesday evening and created a new schedule for the foundation day event in response to the Governor’s altered plan. On March 23, the Chancellor (Governor) CP Radhakrishnan will arrive at 3.30 PM and depart for Ranchi after an hour of participation in the event.
Previously, the Governor was supposed to arrive in Dhanbad at 11.30 am for his first visit. But, according to official sources, he will first attend a celebration at Sido Kanhu Murmu University in Dumka before travelling to Dhanbad for the BBMKU foundation day event.
After the Chancellor’s brief remark, the vice-chancellor Dr Sukhdeo Bhoi and the pro-vice-chancellor Dr PK Poddar will now be the only speakers at the event. The felicitation of teachers and any further events that were to be held in the Chancellor’s presence that day has been postponed until later.
To make the 6th foundation day function memorable, the Vice Chancellor, Dr Sukhdeo Bhoi, has formed various committees of senior officials and teachers. Since BBMKU’s new campus is already inaugurated, the chancellor will provide department’s access to the space.
