Jharkhand Govt committed to check foetus killing in State: Health Minister

Dhanbad, Dec 29: Health minister Banna Gupta today said that the Hemant Soren government is committed to eliminate foetus killing and  social evil dowry system from the state completely.

Gupta, the minister in-charge of Dhanbad district, who was addressing the function organized over completion of two years of the state government at Town Hall today in the late afternoon, said that  dowry system and foetus killing  are complementary  to each other. “The government is committed to eliminating it,” he said.

The Health minister said that to check foetus killing 40 ultrasound clinics  in the state have been closed for violation of Pre- Conception Pre- Natal Diagnostic  Techniques (PC- PNDT) Act.

“ The state government is promoting  archery, hockey and football as sports activities. The government is also providing  opportunities to promising players to display their talent at a proper platform,” said the health minister.
Besides inaugurating the multi- purpose sports park at Golf Ground, the health minister also laid 195 foundation stones of worth Rs 231.30 crores and inaugurated development projects worth Rs 37.95 crores on the occasion.

Purnima  Neeraj Singh, Jharia Cong MLA  on the  occasion said that in the last two years the government has faced the Corona pandemic successfully. “The government stood with people of the state during the pandemic and initiated  all steps for keeping   them safe,” she said.
The Jharia MLA said in the health index Jharkhand is on 12th position which indicates the state’s health services are improving day by day.
