Ranchi, March 21: The State government today reiterated its commitment to provide jobs to the state people and put a check on migration.
Labour, employment and training minister Satyanand Bhokta reiterated his commitment before the assembly approved budgets for the year 2021-22 of five departments. The departments include labour, employment and training, energy, industry, excise and prohibition and mines and geology.
“This year as many as one lakh youths will be imparted skill development training in different districts, commissionaire and state-level programmes. They will register online for jobs and to ensure their employment, national and multinational companies will be invited,” Bhokta said.
Earlier minister Bhokta also said the state government will ensure 75 percent reservation to locals in private companies working in Jharkhand. He said that the government will ensure that private companies get skilled manpower from Jharkhand according to their requirements.
The minister on the occasion also informed about different measures taken for the welfare of labourers and their family members. The government has a provision to bring the body of a worker in case of the latter’s death outside the state and compensate his family. He also let the house members know about the provisions to provide medical facilities, tool facilities to workers and their families.
The minister said workers are being associated with ESI hospitals, where they are provided with all necessary facilities during their treatment.
Earlier, during the debate on the budget, issue of theft of minerals from the state, lack of mineral-based industries in the state, non-payment of minimum wages by outsources agencies in the government-run institutions, poor power supply, delay in replacement of transformers, official-mafia nexus, lack of manpower in district industry centres, plan of home delivery of liquor were raised.
Some important suggestions also came. Congress MLA Amba Prasad raised the demand to convert the policy of royalty centric mining into development centric mining. Bandhu Tirkey from the same party demanded immediate provision of 1000 acre land to ensure the establishment of union-sponsored Mega Textile Park which will pave a path of 50000 jobs. Ajsu legislator Lambodar Mahto wanted to ensure proper use of ITI buildings.
