Ranchi, Feb 22: Jharkhand’s director general (rail) Anil Palta suspended officer-in-charge of Chittaranjan government railway police (GRP) Suresh Paswan for dancing with a semi-nude woman.

Notably, DG Palta took the action after a video of the officer-in-charge dancing with a semi-nude woman to a vulgar song became viral on social media. He got information regarding the same through the superintendent of police (rail).

The superintendent of police got the information through Railway Protection Force (RPF) stationed at Asansol in West Bengal, where the video was being viewed and negative comments were being passed hampering the image of Jharkhand police.

The action was taken as it was felt that Paswan’s action tarnished the image of the police. The DG felt being a responsible officer such behaviour was not expected from Paswan.

A police official said OC Paswan danced in a programme organised on the occasion of Shivratri on temple premises. Other than Paswan, other police officials were also present at the function.
