Hazaribag, Jan 19: Police today solved the case of a missing truck carrying 309 bags of detergent which involved a businessman Sunil Gupta who died under mysterious circumstances on Saturday evening.
Notably, his death made the police lodge an FIR against two ASIs which resulted in their suspension.
Sadar subdivisional police officer Mahesh Prajapati said they have received a complaint from Ghadi company related to a missing truck carrying detergent packets. The truck was to supply these packets in Ranchi but went missing in between.

The company officials told police that they came to know that detergents went missing from the truck which was available in the market of Hazaribag.
Prajapati said when they caught Gupta after knowing that he was also having the detergent packets with him, he told them about a shop from where he purchased the packets.
However, there was information about one more shop which has detergents. The shop owner pointed towards Gupta when asked where he got the detergents.
As police turned towards Gupta, he started running taking the terrace of a house and accidentally fell down from there which proved fatal for him a few hours later.
Prajapati said they have recovered 309 bags of detergent bags out of 1,200 from a godown in Barkagaon.
“We have also arrested the two involved. It appeared to police that a few businessmen had taken these bags of detergents and Sunil Gupta was one of them,” he said.
