Ranchi, Jan 24: The Jharkhand High Court (JHC) today dismissed the petition of the former chief minister and BJP legislator party chief Babulal Marandi challenging the action of the assembly speaker court in the matter of defection.
Notably, the development took place in the court of Justice Rajesh Shanker who had reserved judgement in the matter after hearing all sides.
Marandi had knocked on the door of HC alleging that the assembly speaker court did not give him an opportunity to produce a witness and his argument was not heard in the matter of defection involving him.
The court dismissing the petition observed that since no order has been passed from the assembly court it will not be proper for the high court to interfere in the matter.
