Ranchi: The Jharkhand High Court today lifted the stay on the ongoing process for the appointment of 26000 assistant teachers (Acharyas) in the state.
The High Court passed the order after hearing the petition challenging the 50 percent reservation given to para teachers in the Assistant Teacher Appointment Rules.
In this regard, a petition has been filed in the court on behalf of Bahadur Mahto and others.
A division bench headed by Chief Justice Sanjay Kumar Mishra has directed the JSSC to keep 100 seats vacant. Also, the court has said that the appointment will be affected by the final order of the High Court.
Advocate General Rajiv Ranjan appearing on behalf of the state government urged the court to lift the ban on the appointment process, after which the court passed the amended order. Advocate Sanjay Piparwal and advocate Prince Kumar presented their side on behalf of the JSSC.
