Jamshedpur, Sept 15: Jharkhand High Court on Friday ordered West Singhbhum Superintendent of Police (SP) to accept the FIR of Puja Giri in connection with the murder of Kamalnath Giri.
Kamalnath Giri who was a budding Hindu righteous leader was killed in a bomb attack at Chakradharpur police station area in West Singhbhum in November last year.
As it was allegedly a political murder, the victim’s family members had demanded the arrest of certain elements suspected to be involved in the murder.
The bereaved family members were not only demanding the arrest of the real culprits involved in the murder but also were demanding a narco-analysis test of those arrested in connection with the murder.
Significantly, as the police were evading to consider what the victim’s family wanted to say in connection with the murder, the latter had even staged a dharna in front of the police office in Chakradharpur to press their demand. The police had, however, dispersed the aggrieved protestors by following coercive measures.
It was only after being denied justice by the police administration in the investigation into the sensational murder case that the murder victim’s sister Puja Giri approached the Jharkhand High Court, seeking justice.
The petitioner’s plea was heard by the court of Justice Sanjay Kumar Dwivedi which ordered the West Singhbhum SP to accept the FIR of Puja Giri in connection with the murder case.
