Ranchi, March 13: The Jharkhand High Court today quashed the FIR registered against BJP MPs-Manoj Tiwari and Nishikant Dubey, in Deoghar.
The Deoghar district administration had registered the FIR on September 1 last year after the duo accompanied by seven allegedly forced the air traffic control to give clearance to take off a flight in the evening on August 31 even as there is no ‘night take-off or landing facility’ at the Deoghar airport.
The FIR was registered at the Kunda police station on the complaint of security in-charge Suman Anand who stated that they violated all the ‘safety standards’ by entering the ATC room and pressured the officials for clearance to take-off.
Nine persons, including both the MPs —Dubey and Tiwari — and the airport director were booked under IPC sections 336 (act endangering life or personal safety of others), 447 (punishment for criminal trespass), 448 (punishment for house-trespass).
Justice Sanjay Kumar Dwivedi passed the order after hearing the argument of the MPs’ advocate Prashant Pallav and the administration’s lawyer Sachin Kumar.
