Ranchi, Feb.3: The Jharkhand High Court reserved its judgement in the petition filed by two convicts of SP Amarjit Balihar murder case for their acquittal.
The convicts moved to the high court after the lower court in Dumka awarded them a death sentence.
The petitioners submitted that the decision given by the lower court is not just and without any proper evidence.
Notably, Maoists had ambushed Balihar along with six policemen in 2013. Out of seven arrested in this connection, five were acquitted due to lack of evidence from the lower court. Now two convicts, Sukhlal Murkh alias Praveer and Sanatan alias Tala, who were awarded death sentences have moved the high court.
