Ranchi, Aug 26: As many as nine cases of MLA/ MP have been executed in the state since February 2022 till now. These include one in Dhanbad court, two in Ranchi, one in Daltonganj and three in Chaibasa.
This information was given by the advocate of the High Court on Friday during the hearing of a PIL in the division bench headed by Chief Justice Dr Ravi Ranjan. The PIL was filed for speedy execution of cases related to MLAs and MPs in MLA/MP Court.
The court after getting the information directed the CBI to submit the progress report of criminal cases related to MPs and MLAs pending in CBI court through affidavit. The court also directed to give a copy of the affidavit filed by the state government to high court advocates concerned with the case.
The bench made the high court aware of the discrepancy in data prepared by the state and CBI.
The court deferred the hearing in the case till September 16.
