Ranchi, Jan 24: State Health Minister Banna Gupta today inaugurated the PM Jan Aushadhi Kendra at RIMS Ranchi, putting a full stop at the five-month long wait. The Jan Aushadhi Kendra will help the poor patients of the state to get the medicines at a cheaper rate.

During this, Health Minister Banna Gupta said that today is a day of great fortune. People coming to RIMS will now be able to get medicines at cheaper rates, that too at seven per cent less than the MRP.

“Government’s goal is to provide affordable medicine to all the Sadar Hospitals, CSC and PHC labels in the state. He said that soon 700 types of medicines will be available in PM Jan Aushadhi Kendra,” he said.

The responsibility of running the Pradhan Mantri Jan Aushadhi Kendra in RIMS has been given to Bindhya Medical through tender. The Director of Bindhya Medical said that more than 250 types of medicines will be made available to the patients immediately. More than 750 types of medicines will be available soon.

Operator of the shop Arun Kumar said that generic medicines are made available in Jan Aushadhi Kendra. All the medicines are much cheaper than the branded ones. Even after this, medicines will be available to the patients at a seven per cent cheaper rate than the print rate.

“24 hours service would be provided to the patients in this medicine shop in front of the RIMS emergency gate so that the patients would not have to wander here and there for medicines late at night,” Kumar said.
