Ranchi, April 26: State Health Minister Banna Gupta, who hogged the limelight after an obscene video clip showing him engaged in sexual discussion with a woman became viral, said today that the entire exercise was a conspiracy hatched against him by his rivals.
Addressing a press conference at his official residence, Gupta demanded a fair investigation in the matter. The health minister said he was ready to hand over this mobile phone to police without any hesitation. He said that people are after him as he comes from a backward community and talks about backward reservation.
Pointing finger at senior leader Saryu Roy, the health minister said that he did not want to expose anyone but he has a lot of information that could put him in trouble. He alleged Roy of adopting double standards when the time comes for giving statements on the same subject.
“When Ranchi MLA C.P. Singh faced the same situation which I faced, it was taken as a honey trap attempt and in my case, it was taken as a funny trap,” Gupta said, daring his rival to come openly instead of putting a woman in trouble in order to harass him.
Roy through a tweet had said that the viral video clip showing Gupta engaged in a sexual discussion was a part of a three-minute video. On which, Gupta said whether the video duration be of three minutes or 300 hours those who know him are not going to be influenced by this activity.
