Ranchi, Jan.31: The Jharkhand High Court has directed the Ranchi SSP and DFO to file a reply in the matter of encroachment of the housing board land in Harmu Housing Colony for construction of a hospital building, Arogyam, by a RIMS cardiology department doctor Rakesh Choudhary.

The direction came from the court of Justice S.K.Dwivedi when Bhola Roy filed a writ petition demanding immediate order to stop the construction work. Roy, through his petition, informed the court that the doctor had cut a 20 -year tree for the construction on the housing board land and neither the police nor the forest department took action against him despite information to this effect.

The court while giving the direction to the DFO and the SSP to file affidavits separately also directed to maintain status quo. The court has given two weeks’ time to file an affidavit.  The Jharkhand State Housing Board is also one of the respondents in the case.

The hospital is adjacent to St Francis School in Harmu.
