Ranchi, Aug 23: The Jharkhand High Court deferred the hearing on the PIL challenging the court fee hike till September 7.
A division bench comprising Chief Justice Ravi Ranjan and Justice S N Prasad passed the order after the Jharkhand government sought time to argue in the PIL.
Earlier, during the hearing, the Jharkhand government produced the documents related to the process of increasing the court fee.
Advocate General Rajiv Ranjan argued on behalf of the State Government and while Jharkhand State Bar Council President Rajendra Krishna argued on behalf of the petitioner. Senior advocate VP Singh was present in the capacity of amicus curiae appointed by the high court.
