Ranchi, Oct 11: Jharkhand High Court has received one more judge as Justice Subhash Chandra of Allahabad High Court has been transferred to Jharkhand High Court and an order related to this has also been issued.

After the transfer of Justice Subhash to Jharkhand, the number of judges in the Jharkhand High Court has increased to 20. With this, it is expected that the hearing of pending cases in the Jharkhand High Court will now speed up.

On Friday last, Chief Justice of Jharkhand High Court Justice Dr Ravi Ranjan had administered the oath to four new judges. In this swearing-in programme, many people, including High Court judges, and advocates were present. Five names were proposed by the Supreme Court Collegium in the matter of appointment of judges to the Jharkhand High Court. Four of these names were approved by the central government. The four names who had been approved include the names of Gautam Kumar Chaudhary, Ambuj Nath, Navneet Kumar and Sanjay Prasad.
