Lucknow, Oct 11: Ashish Mishra ‘Monu’, the main accused of Lakhimpur violence and son of Union Minister of State for Home Ajay Mishra, will now be in police custody for three days. The Court hearing is over. However, the police had sought a remand of 14 days.

At the same time, the police seized a licensed rifle and pistol, which have been sent for forensic examination. Both these weapons are in the name of Ashish Mishra. A mobile has also been seized.

Earlier on October 9, Ashish was sent to 14-day judicial custody after his arrest. During this, the police had applied for three-day police custody remand in the sessions court of Lakhimpur Kheri for questioning Ashish.

Ashish Mishra’s lawyer opposed the police custody remand after he was arrested in the sessions court of Lakhimpur Kheri. It is believed that during the hearing on Monday also Ashish Mishra’s lawyer Awadhesh Singh had opposed the police custody remand. He says that police custody remand should not be given when there is no need for any kind of recovery or any other evidence gathering in this case.
