Ranchi, July 8: The Jharkhand High Court on Friday issued a notice to Dumka MLA Basant Soren besides former treasurer of the JMM Ravi Kejriwal in the PIL 4290/2021 related to allegations against the chief minister Hemant Soren and his associates for parking their unaccounted monies in different shell companies,
A division bench comprising Chief Justice Dr Ravi Ranjan and Justice Sujit Narayan Prasad passed this order while hearing a PIL 4290/2021 and 727/2022. The division bench posted the matter for hearing on July 29. The bench directed Ranchi DC Chhavi Ranjan to ensure notice is served to Basant Soren who is the brother of Hemant Soren besides Ravi Kejriwal.
Both are respondents in the PIL 4290/2021. The High Court also directed the Enforcement Directorate to submit the prosecution complaint filed against suspended IAS Pooja Singhal in the money laundering case.
In the 4290/2021 the court directed to withdraw the names of Ramesh Kejriwal, Rajiv Agrawal, Nidhi Agrawal, Premnath Mali and Ranjan Sahu. The court said that they can’t be impleaded in the PIL.
The court rejected the objection raised by Rajiv Kumar, the lawyer of the petitioner who said that the state government was paying Rs 22 lakh per hearing to Kapil Sibal in order to save suspects of corruption.
