Ranchi, June 19: Jailed money laundering accused IAS officer Chhavi Ranjan challenged his arrest today in the Jharkhand High Court.
Advocates Indrajit Sinha, Vibhas Sinha and Sneh Singh appeared on his behalf pleading innocence. The court deferred the hearing in the matter directing the ED to file a counter affidavit in the case.
Ranjan is in jail after the central probe agency arrested him for laundering money earned by illegal sale and purchase of land during his tenure as Ranchi deputy commissioner. The land also includes an army plot.
