Ranchi, June 19: The Jharkhand High Court today directed the ED to file counter affidavit in a petition filed by jailed money laundering accused Prem Prakash.
The ED had arrested Prakash, popularly known as a power broker, in August last year. During the process of arresting, the ED also recovered two AK-47s from his residence in Harmu. The Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) special court framed charges against him.
Prakash’s petition challenges the order framing charge against him. Advocates Indrajit Sinha, Vibhas Sinha and Sneh Singh appeared on behalf of him in the court of Gautam Kumar Choudhary, where the petition was listed for hearing.
The court deferred the hearing in the matter till July 10.
