Ranchi, June 16: The Jharkhand High Court has listed a PIL for the hearing where the petitioner Pankaj Yadav has demanded a NIA probe into violence after Friday prayers in Ranchi on June 10.
Rajiv Kumar, the lawyer of the petitioner during the hearing on Thursday requested the court for an early hearing. To this, the court assured that the matter would be heard on Friday. The PIL may be placed before the bench of Chief Justice Dr. Ravi Ranjan and Justice Sujit Narayan Prasad.
The petitioner claimed that the violence was planned by the People’s Front of India and its political wing SDPI which are radical Islamic outfits. He further contended that the role of All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen headed by Asaduddin Owaisi must be probed.
He has made the Jharkhand government, Chief Secretary, Ranchi DC, Ranchi SSP, NIA, Enforcement Directorate and the Income Tax respondent of this case. The petitioner has said that the violence in Ranchi was an outcome of a larger well-planned conspiracy that Ranchi Police or Jharkhand Police can’t investigate and take to a logical conclusion. Quoting the media he said that the handlers of violence from the Saharanpur district of Uttar Pradesh secretly visited Ranchi to instigate crime.
He has requested the court to direct the premier agencies to investigate the preparation, execution, and sources of funding of the targeted violence initiated by thousands of the people who are having funding outside the state and these outsiders were there in the organizing violence in the name of opposing Nupur Sharma. The petitioner said that the background of the deceased and injured persons may be checked for a deeper investigation.
