Ranchi, May 24: The Jharkhand High Court deferred hearing in the PILs involving Chief Minister Hemant Soren, his trusted bureaucrats, and associates till June 1.
Advocate Rajiv Kumar informed this after a hearing in the matter in the Supreme Court and the Jharkhand High Court took place.
“Hearing in all three matters took place in Jharkhand High Court. As the hearing at the Supreme Court took place earlier the high court also considered the matter discussed there during the hearing,” advocate Kumar said.
“It was decided that on June 1 a hearing on maintainability of PILs will take place. Apart from this, on the same day a hearing on the IA demanding to make the CBI a party in the MNREGA scam case will also take place. Other matters to be heard on the day include shell companies and mining lease irregularities,” Kumar added.
Kumar said that Kapil Sibal appearing on behalf of the Jharkhand Government prayed for four weeks’ time to file an affidavit in the IA demanding impleading CBI in the MNREGA scam but the court did not grant the same and asked to file an affidavit by May 31.
