Ranchi, May 16: The Jharkhand High Court reserved its judgment on former Congress national president Rahul Gandhi demanding dropping of criminal proceedings started against him by a Ranchi’s lower court.
The court starting criminal proceedings summoned Gandhi after BJP leader Naveen Kumar Jha filed a defamation suit against him for his derogatory comment on the home minister and former BJP president Amit Shah.
Earlier, the Jharkhand high court had stayed the summons and directed for no-coercive action against Gandhi.
Advocates Piyush Chitresh and Dipankar Rai represented Gandhi. The matter was heard by Jharkhand High Court judge Justice Ambuj Nath.
Petitioner’s advocate Vinod Sahu informed this saying the case involves Rahul’s statement ‘Congress BJP Ki Tarah Hatyare Ko Party Adhyaksh Ke Roop Mein Swikar Nahi Kar Sakti’.
