Ranchi, Sept 26: The recovery of the CDR of two mobile phones and a dozen communication and data storage devices from the possession of powerbroker, Prem Prakash, has led the Enforcement Directorate (ED) that the agency has accidentally laid its hands upon a minefield that can open and expose deep nexus of corruption at the high level. The recovery of high-end electronic devices also suggests that Prem Prakash was quite tech savvy.

While the data is still being retrieved, the ED has told the special PMLA court that Prem Prakash is a key accused of illegal mining who is very powerful to an extent of tweaking administrative decisions.

What has raised the curiosity of the agency is the fact that from his Ashok Nagar (Ranchi) residence the ED seized the Call Details Record (CDR) of two mobile phone numbers namely 789203593 (1st July 2021 to 1st October 2021) and 85410 15096 (1st July 2021 to 26th August 2021). The CDR of the first mobile number runs into 58 pages and the CDR of the second number runs into 31 pages. The investigation is underway on whose name the above mentioned numbers were issued and how Prem Prakash possessed these and in what capacity. The ED is investigating whether these were lawfully obtained. These were recovered during the raid when the ED recovered two AK 47 police weapons from his residence also.

The ED got a number of mobile phones from his possession including one red colour iPhone with Airtel SIM contact number

9102266565 belongs to Prem Prakash. Another red coloured iPhone 12 was found with contact number 7004227688 belonging to one Punit Bhargav. In another black coloured Android phone was found with contact number 957286333 and 9234565550 belonging to Punit Bhargav. One Realme C2 5S android phone with number 7481937612 and 9931837906 were found belonging to Kumar Suryansh Singh. Besides, six hard disks together of 5 TB capacity and one laptop were found. Agency insiders said that the data stored in the digital devices will be the part of the further investigation.

The agency said that it has got many other documents related to business and financial concerns of Amit Agarwal, Rajesh and Amartya Choudhary. There is a letter addressed to the SP of Bokaro, document of a flat based at Greater Noida, papers related to Shriram Power and Steel Private Limited, Baleno car having the registration number JH 01CP007. There are several loose sheets containing transaction details. Prem Prakash has some business interest in My Classroom Foundation too.
