Ranchi, Jan.7: Two factions of advocates were noticed in the Jharkhand capital today.

The majority faction reflected its aggression against the state government when the members were noticed marching on the capital road to protest against the government decision of increasing court fees besides other reasons. Another faction, mostly of government lawyers, was noticed sitting with Jharkhand chief minister Hemant Soren at his official residence at Kanke Road.

Journalists were not allowed to know the matter of discussion at the chief minister’s residence while those protesting on the road were heard sharing their problem with journalists and explaining how increase in the court fee will deprive poor people of Jharkhand from getting justice and pave path for the highhanded people to grab poor’s land and property.

It was the second day of protest by aggressive advocates, who distanced themselves from the court work on the call of Jharkhand Bar Council to give a strong message to the state government for its ‘anti-people’ decision. They were led by the Jharkhand State Bar Council Chairman Rajendra Krishna.

The advocates having affection for the state government were led by advocate General Rajiv Ranjan, who had invited advocates from all the 24 districts to participate in the interaction with Soren after terming the Jharkhand Bar Council’s call for protest illegal.

A senior advocate of civil court, Panchdeo Singh, supported the observation saying majority of advocates who were at the CM’s residences were those who work for government like government pleaders, public prosecutors besides others.
