Ranchi, Feb.12: On the last day of campaigning for the Uttarakhand Assembly elections, Rural Development Minister of Jharkhand and Congress Legislature Party chief Alamgir Alam held an election meeting to support Congress candidate in dozens of villages including Haridwar Rural and Acre Ibrahimpur in Roorkee assembly constituency.
Alam visited door to door and appealed to voters to vote in favour of Congress party candidates. He justified his appeal saying it was a must to maintain peace and all-round development of the country. He said voting in favour of Congress is the need of the hour to check the rising inflation, security of women, employment to the youth.
Alam said during the last 5 years, the BJP gave only three chief ministers in the name of work, nothing else.
Like Alam, Mahagama MLA Deepika Pandey also remained busy in the campaign. She shared her picture with senior Congress party leader Priyanka Gandhi informing that Leela Devi Latwal, who fought with the tiger, welcomed Gandhi with a Uttrakhandi cloth, Pichora. and shared dais with her in a meeting at Damuwadunga in Haldwani.
