State police spokesperson A.V. Homkar could not be reached for his comments on the matter. A senior police official said a probe is going on in the matter.
“The matter surfaced in 2013. Students who impersonated as extremists were associated with Digdarshan Coaching Institute. After the matter came to fore one Ravi Bodra was arrested on April 6, 2014. A SIT was also constituted on September 1, 2020. The probe is on,” the official said, expressing his inability to share any information regarding the present status of the probe.

After SIT was constituted in 2020, in January 2021 Ravi Bodra, who was arrested in this connection in 2014, filed an intervention petition in the High Court in the matter alleging involvement of the then CRPF IG D.K. Pandey, who later became Jharkhand DGP, former home secretary JB Tubid, IG S.N. Pradhan, Deputy Commandant of Cobra Battalion P.R.K Mishra, company commandant Lakhendra Singh and the then SSP of Ranchi but despite that no breakthrough has taken place in the matter and entire incident is still a mystery.
