Jharkhand: Number of SHGs to receive community investment increases six times since 2019

Ranchi, Dec 15: The number of self-help groups (SHGs) receiving community investment has seen a six-times increase in the last three years. The numbers were 304 in 2019-20, 80,299 in 2020-21, 72051 in 2021-22, and 30,797 in 2022-23 so far.

Since December 2019, not only has there been an increase in the number of self-help groups receiving community investment but there has also been an increase in the amount of revolving funds and community investments received by self-help groups.

Between 2012-19, Rs 12,437.1 lakh was released to self-help groups under the cyclical fund, while Rs 27,949.9 lakh was received in the last three years from December 2019 to date.

In this way, about two and a half times more amount was released to different groups in three years. From 2012-2019, Rs 12437.1 was issued. While Rs 3560.4 lakh in 2019-20, Rs 17684.73 lakh in 2020-21, Rs 3542.59 lakh in 2021-22 and Rs 3162.18 lakh in 2022-23 have so far been distributed among self-help groups under the revolving fund. 

There has also been a four-times increase in the amount of community investment in the last three years. From 2012 to 2019, Rs 20524.48 lakh was provided under community investment. At the same time, Rs 86,816.52 lakh has been given to self-help groups since December 2019. 

In this way, Rs 152 lakh in 2019-20, Rs 36,367.67 lakh in 2020-21, Rs 34,378.6 lakh in 2021-22 and Rs 15,918.25 lakh in 2022-23 have been released to self-help groups under community investment.
