Jharkhand: Online selection programme for District Youth Parliament on Feb 17

Ranchi, Feb 16: A meeting of the programme coordinators of all NSS universities of Jharkhand was organized in virtual mode under the chairmanship of state NSS officer Dr. Brajesh Kumar on Wednesday. The NSS Regional Director Piyush Paranjpe (Patna) was also present on the occasion.

A decision was taken to organize the district level online selection program on 17th February in 24 districts of Jharkhand for the selected two participants for District Youth Parliament from each of the colleges. For the district level online selection programme, it was decided that the district nodal officer of NSS will be involved with the jury as chairmanship.

Officials decided further that four participants from each district will be selected from the district level selection programme and that the selected three participants from each district will participate online in the District Youth Parliament to be held in all the four nodal districts of Jharkhand.

NSS Programme Coordinators of four Universities of Jharkhand State were made in-charge of four Nodal Districts including Dr. Dara Singh Gupta (Ranchi Nodal District), Dr. Johnny Rufina Tirkey (Gumla Nodal District), Dr. Vibhesh Kumar Choubey (Palamu Nodal District) and Dr. Mary Margaret Tudu (Garhwa Nodal District).

State NSS officer Dr Brajesh Kumar informed that 24 districts of Jharkhand will be under the four nodal districts. For instance, Ranchi will oversee Ranchi, Khunti, Hazaribagh, Bokaro, East Singhbhum, West Singhbhum, Seraikela Kharsawan and Ramgarh district, while Gumla will supervise Gumla, Simdega, Lohardaga, Chatra and Latehar. Similarly, Palamu wil be incharge of Palamu, Dhanbad, Giridih, Koderma, Deoghar. At the same time, Garhwa  will monitor Garhwa, Dumka, Pakur, Godda, Jamtara  and Sahebganj.

It was noted that the online selection process at college level for youth parliament at district, state level and national level is complete. The youth parliament is to be organized under the joint aegis of National Service Scheme and Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan. The names of two participants from each college have been provided to officials.

The University Program Coordinators of NSS Dr. Dara Singh Gupta, Dr. Johnny Rufina Tirkey, Dr. Mary Margaret Tudu, Dr. Vibhesh Kumar Choubey, Dr. Masuf Ahmed, Dr. BK Jha, Dr. Subhash Kumar Baitha, Dr. Jayendra Kumar, Dr. Omprakash Pandey, Dr. Paras Nath Mishra, Dr. Sanjeev Sinha, Dr. Raghuvansh along with Kaushal Kumar were present during the meeting.
