Ranchi, June 3: The Jharkhand police and CRPF personnel engaged in anti-naxal operations in Jharkhand today foiled two attempts of extremists to damage the police and people.
First, the security personnel recovered six IEDs from the road leading from Pattarob to Tumbahaka village under Tonto police station area of Chaibasa district.
SP Ashutosh Shekhar said the breakthrough came with the help of villagers. “All the IEDs have been defused. While each of four IEDs weighed six kg, the remaining two IEDs weighed five kg each,” he said.
Security personnel is focussing in West Singhbhum forest after getting information regarding the presence of top Maoist leaders including Misir Besra, Anmol, Mochu, Chaman, Kande, Ajay Mahto, Sagen Angaria, Ashwin along with their squad members since January 11 this year.
Another attempt was foiled after the Jharkhand police arrested four extremists associated with the People’s Liberation Front of India (PLFI) with a cache of arms and ammunition from Tuyu forest under Karra police station area in Khunti district.
Those arrested were identified as Ajay Dhan, Chandan Horo, Jatru Herring and Mani Munda
SP Aman Kumar said the breakthrough came after he deputed a team behind these extremists getting secret information. He said they were planning some attack when the police arrested them.
