Daltonganj, Jan 14: Palamu police on Friday discovered pieces of a human skeleton and other belongings at a desolate place in Matporhi on Friday. They found one skull, one hand with fingers and a piece of bone along with some other belongings.

Assistant superintendent of police Rishabh Garg said the recovered bones and other articles are all semi-charred. It meant the person was burnt alive, the ASP added.

The bones would be put on the DNA test, as informed by the ASP. Sources said the case looks ‘blind’ as none has come forward making any claim to the human residue.

Police officer Gautam Kumar told lagatar24.com, “We are sending the bones and skull to RIMS Ranchi today for its preservation for the DNA test.”

He added that police have preserved ashes which would be sent to the FSL Ranchi.

He further said that during their search, they found power glass, some diesel in a bottle, one pair of half-burnt shoes, one woollen cap, one pair of half burnt socks, one semi burnt wrist watch, a small box of tobacco, one semi-burnt piece of green cloth, leaf plates, disposable cups and some red colour liquid.

The discovery of diesel hints at the use of it in the burning of the human body but a very little leftover diesel raised fingers at its more profuse quantity of diesel used in the burning of the human body said Gautam Kumar.

Moreover, Garg said the charred bones are suspected to be one day old or so.

On being asked if there is any complaint about anyone missing etc to which Garg said they have alerted all the police stations in the contiguity of the Sadar police station and till this hour there is no report of any complaint about anyone missing etc.

The bones could be of a male in the age group of 40 to 50 years opined Kumar. The crime scene is in the vicinity of the recovery of the bones and other belongings where there are telltale signs of putting someone afire alive.

The Police officer said we are set to unfold this case as it revolves around merry-making over wine which later turned into a cold-blooded burning alive.
