Ranchi, Oct.7: Manoj Kumar, accused of killing Jeetram Munda, the BJP SC Morcha (Rural) district president,  was today arrested from civil court premises.

Manoj, who was carrying an award of Rs one lakh on his head, was arrested before he could surrender.

“When Manoj realized that he would be arrested any day, he planned to surrender before the court. But as he reached the civil court premises, police got a tip-off and arrested him,” a police official said.

Jeetram Munda was shot dead at Ormanjhi on September 22. During the investigation it was revealed that Manoj Munda had hired a contract killer from UP, Dablu Yadav, to kill Jeetram, to settle his personal score. SSP Surendra Kumar Jha had constituted a special investigation team (SIT) to crack the case.

The SIT arrested Yadav from Ghazipur in UP on September 28. Apart from this, the team also arrested one Kartik Munda involved in the murder. Manoj was at large.  Today he was also arrested.
