Ranchi, Oct 7: The Jharkhand Police headquarters is going to conduct counselling for the policemen suffering from family problems and depression as the incidents of suicides by policemen are continuously coming to the fore in the state.
Regarding this, a letter has been written by the Jharkhand Police headquarters to the SSP of the districts and the commandant of all the corps, to provide information of a policeman and a police officer suffering from family problems or depression, so that further action could be taken for their counselling.
Suicidal tendencies have increased among policemen. The mental and family tension on the officers and policemen of the police department is such that they are not shying away from taking their own lives.
During the last year, many policemen committed suicide one after the other in Jharkhand. The main reason for this can be considered to be a family dispute, mental stress or love affair.
Eight hours of daily work and six days of duty in a week for Constable and Havildar level policemen have been proved empty talks as several months have passed since this order of former DGP DK Pandey, but this order was not followed at the ground level. The biggest reason for this is the shortage of policemen. When policemen are falling short in one shift, then how will it be possible to get this order to be followed by doing duty in three shifts.
