Daltonganj, Feb 14: Jharkhand RJD president Sanjay Singh Yadav today said that the party has set its eyes on the recovery of votes which were stolen or snatched by other political parties.
Talking to Lagatar24.com, Yadav said, “Our votes have been snatched by others. Our prime task is to regain our stolen votes. It is like collecting our scattered votes.”
On being queried that the task to regain or recapturing votes in the present political context is no easy political job to which RJD state head said “We know it. We will put our heart and soul to retake our votes. It will mean enormous groundwork to be done to attach our cadres to the party.”
When asked again why his votes, as he claims to have been stolen, should come to him when his party is badly marginalised and has very little political relevance now left of it in Jharkhand to which Yadav said, “The whole of the Palamu division was once the land of the RJD. It was like the capital of the RJD. Our voters and cadres are there.”
He added that they are extremely politically relevant in Chatra, Manika, Koderma, Gandey, Jamua, Barkatha, Godda, Deoghar etc and they can make a comeback politically.
The RJD is to ‘raise’ itself from one MLA and zero MP stage in Jharkhand to double-digit by combining two sets of MP and MLA ahead of the election year 2024 when Jharkhand will have two hustings, a general election and Vidhan Sabha election.
Tejashwi Yadav has asked the party men to build up the party which stands in political aloofness in Jharkhand with just one MLA of it in Satyanand Bhokta.
The RJD state president said, “Our M-Y (Muslim Yadav) combination is intact and it needs to be refreshed.”
When reminded that even if the M-Y combination is intact, then why he lost his own assembly election in 2019 from the Hussainabad assembly constituency to which Yadav said, “These two segments Muslims and Yadavs were tempted and lured by others nevertheless I polled 30,000 plus votes even then in 2019 assembly election which indicates the M-Y combination has not politically disintegrated in Jharkhand.”
RJD is a poor crisis manager in the event of the BJP’s blatant polarisation of votes ahead of the polls and Yadav said, “We have with us our social justice banner that we will be raised among the populace. It will cut into the BJP’s polarisation.”
Yadav said it is the old habit and politics of the BJP to raise the bogey of caste and religion ahead of the election but voters are too canny now to understand the meaning of the bogey.
Organisationally, the RJD is nowhere in Jharkhand in comparison to other regional parties
“We are. We do not make political noise about it. We are to take down our organization to the grass root level,” said Yadav.
On being asked that his one MLA is keener to have a soft pedalling towards the JMM, hardly caring about the party but Yadav did not make any comment on it.
The RJD MLA remains in the entourage of the chief minister Hemant Soren more than required but for the revival of the party this lone MLA of the RJD is not heard complained a dozen party workers of the RJD.
