Ranchi, Dec.15: Two days after three assailants shot at and injured a lady Padma Baraik (Sushma) fighting against her repeated sexual exploitation, the Jharkhand police have failed to get any concrete clue in the case and so far groping in the dark.

Though it is being said by the police officials that a team has been sent to Patna to arrest one of the suspects Danish Rizwan and call dump is being collected to ascertain how many telephones were active near the spot at the time of incident, no one has been arrested so far.

The lady is still under treatment at Bhagwan Mahavir Medica Super specialty Hospital and doctors are leaving no stone unturned to save her.

“The lady is now under the care of Dr Gautam Chandra. Her BP was 123/77 while pulse was 97. SPO2 is 96. She is conscious. Wound debridement was conducted today,” said advisor of Medica group of hospitals, Anand Srivastava, without commenting much on her health condition.

The delay suggests how poor is the intelligence network of the police, which first could not know the persons behind the life of the lady and when the lady was shot at in the presence of her state sponsored body guard in broad day light on a VIP road like Harmu Bypass Road in the heart of Jharkhand capital police started running from pillar to post to get some clue.

“The shooter was smart enough to choose a place to open fire where there was no CCTV but the police is not smart enough to nab any of the three assailants in more than 48 hours who escaped defying the electronic surveillance and patrolling police in the broad daylight,” a resident of Harmu Housing Colony said.

Meanwhile, information reaching to the police from different corners so far suggested the assailants have UP and Bihar connection and the two-wheeler they used was registered in the name of a BJP leader. Apart from this, police also have information that there was one local guy who helped the shooter identify the lady.

Contacted officer-in-charge of Argora police station Vinod Kumar for his comment, he just said ‘effort is on.’ SP(rural) Naushad Alam, who is holding the additional charge of S.P(city) and S.P(traffic), could not be contacted for his comment.
