Ranchi, Dec 9: The Jharkhand government will plan to complete 100% vaccination of all people above years of age in the state by January 20 2022 as ordered by Chief Minister Hemant Soren during the high-level meeting held today with the officials of the Health Department in the Jharkhand Ministry.
On the occasion, the CM directed the officers to set up permanent vaccination centres in each of the panchayat headquarters in the State and to motivate the people to be cautious regarding the Covid-19 Omicron variant.
Discussing the people coming from abroad, the CM said that a proper screening system should be maintained at airports, railway stations, and bus stands and if any positive traveller is found the sample should be sent to Odisha to check the strain of the virus.
“The State will have 99 medical oxygen plants by combining the government and private institutions by January 25 for which the state needs 13 more plants,” the CM said.
Information about the updated status and preparedness of Corona in the state was kept before the Chief Minister through a presentation by the officials of the Health Department. It was told through the presentation that there are 129 positive patients in the state at present. So far in Jharkhand 70.45 percent of people have received the first dose of Covid vaccination and 35.58 per cent of people have got the second dose. 14863 oxygen beds, 3204 ICU beds, 1456 ventilators and 8738 normal beds have been kept ready for better treatment of patients in Covid hospitals of the state. For quality treatment of young children, 1147 ICU beds, 1799 oxygen supported beds, 234 ventilators and 375 medium ICU (HDU) beds have been prepared.
State Health Minister Banna Gupta, Chief Secretary Sukhdev Singh, Development Commissioner cum Principal Secretary of Health Department Arun Kumar Singh, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Rajiv Arun Ekka, Secretary to Chief Minister Vinay Kumar Choubey, Disaster Management Secretary Amitabh Kaushal, NRHM Managing Director Ramesh Gholap, JSLPS CEO Nancy Sahay and other officials were present.
