Jamshedpur, Aug 23: Several parts of Jharkhand were expected to experience light to moderate showers today, said a forecast issued by IMD’s Ranchi Met Centre.
According to weathermen, rainfall activity is expected in the evening and night.
IMD’s Ranchi Met Centre also issued an alert of thunder and lightning in isolated areas today.
Several places including Jamshedpur today woke up to bright sunshine.
The forecast for Ranchi indicates light cloud formation with one or two spells of rain.
The monsoon trough was today passing through West Singhbhum.
Met statistics revealed that against a normal of 730.5 mm, the state has so far received 535.4 mm, a deficit of 27 per cent.
According to statistics, both the twin districts of Singhbhum have registered surplus rains while the rest of the districts were facing deficient rains.
